World Thinking Day 2018: the Big Sleepover

On the weekend of 24th and 25th February, Tonbridge North Division took part in Girlguiding LaSER’s Big Sleepover 2018 where members were challenged to throw an international sleepover! The Rainbows, Brownies and Guides who came were put into four groups and visited each one of the overseas World Centres and enjoyed activities inspired by that location.

Hats off to Rainbows

Hats off to Rainbows
Rainbows had a go at doing activities based on 30 years of Rainbows called Hats off to Rainbows, a challenge created by Girlguiding LaSER. Rainbow Guides started in 1987 although the 1st Tonbridge North Rainbows did not start until 1989. The idea behind the theme was the girls would meet people with various “hats” and to show that girls can do anything.

We met a scientist for the Curious Hat, a First Aid trainer for the Caring Hat, a Dance Teacher for the Active Hat, a policeman for the Leading Hat and a chef for the Inventive Hat. We also leaned a song which the girls sang to their parents and showed them the dance routine they had learned. The girls thoroughly enjoyed learning about what they could do.

Cake Sale

Katie, from 12th Tonbridge Rangers, together with her fellow Rangers, is organising a cake sale to take place after the Church Parade.  The Rangers wanted to do something to help the Syrian Refugee Crisis and wish to raise funds to send to the Unicef’s Syrian Children Emergency Appeal (click here for more details) by running a cake stall.

All cake donations gratefully received and please come along and support us. Thank you.

New Leaders

Many congratulations to Victoria and Susan, otherwise known as Brown Owl and Tawny Owl of the 13th Tonbridge Brownies on gaining their Leadership Qualification. They were presented with this at the Summer Church Parade Service.
