New Hildenborough Rainbow unit proposed

Hi, my name is Claire and I would like to open a new Rainbow unit in Hildenborough. I am a fully qualified Guide leader and have been volunteering with Guides aged 10 – 14 for 5 years. I am also currently the District Commissioner for Tonbridge Town. I will continue with my Guide unit but I will also top up my leadership qualification with the required Rainbow section activities.

Why Hildenborough: My daughter was born last year and I would like her to have the opportunity to go to Rainbows, but currently there isn’t a unit in Hildenborough and the waiting list for Tonbridge units is very long! We live in Hildenborough so I would like to open a new unit for girls in my area.

When will it run: Thursdays (term time) 5:15pm until 6:15pm

Where will it run: Hildenborough village (venue discussions are underway)

Please contact me via the form below to register your daughter’s interest in joining a new Rainbow Unit in Hildenborough.

We also need adult volunteers to help to run the unit! Without additional adults the unit cannot open.

If you are a parent or are over 18 and interested in working with children, then becoming a volunteer with a Rainbow Unit could add to your skillset. No experience is needed! Volunteers would need to undergo a DBS (formerly CRB) check and supply 2 references. There would be no need to complete the Girlguiding leadership qualification but the opportunity is there should you so wish. Again, please fill out the form below if you are interested in volunteering with us, even if you can’t make it every week.

Girls aged 14 – 18 are also welcome to volunteer as Rainbow Helpers. It can count towards the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) but if you’re not doing that then just come along and have some fun helping younger girls learn new things, make new friends and have fun!

Guide sailing day

We took part in a Guides-only sailing day at Haysden Lake. We love to do adventurous and outdoor activities, and offer our Brownies and Guides opportunities to try new things.
