Rainbows are the youngest members of Girlguiding and are for girls aged 5 – 7 yrs old. They have lots of fun following their programme called the Rainbow jigsaw. Rainbows is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun. Girls get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, trying out cooking and playing games. Rainbows is all about learning by doing.
We currently have huge waiting lists for all our Rainbow units in Tonbridge and many girls will miss out on the chance to be a Rainbow before moving onto Brownies.
We are, therefore, looking for adults willing to volunteer to help at Rainbow units in the Tonbridge area alongside a qualified Leader. More volunteers would enable us to open more units, giving more girls the opportunity to be a Rainbow. Volunteering could be on a weekly basis or on a fortnightly basis as part of a team.
Volunteers need to be 18+ and can be female or male. No experience is needed! Volunteers would need to undergo a DBS (formerly CRB) check and supply 2 references. There would be no need to complete the Girlguiding leadership qualification but the opportunity would be there should they so wish.
Please use the contact page to find out more about how to volunteer as a Rainbow Helper in Tonbridge.
