Girlguiding Tonbridge Division stretches from Leigh Village, across Tonbridge Town and out to East Peckham. 2016 has been another year of growth with a new Rainbow unit opening in the Town. This means there are now 32 units meeting across the area. Over 650 girls and over 140 Young Leaders and Adult volunteers are involved in Guiding in the Tonbridge area.

Tonbridge Division is part of Girlguiding. For ease of administration the UK is then split into Regions, which are split into Counties. The County of Kent is actually 4 Guiding counties. These counties are divided in turn into Divisions. Tonbridge Division is then split into 4 Districts, each with their own District Commissioner. The diagram below illustrates which areas we are members of.

Some activities will take place in individual units and some are held within a District. Bigger events such as St George’s Day Parade are Division wide events. Girlguiding Kent Weald County puts on many events the girls are able to go to as well as adult trainings and courses. London and South East England Region also organise events such as the Growing Up Wild initiative, as well as International trips for the older Guides and The Senior Section members.

Through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure we empower girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community.
